Aaron Carter has filed of bankruptcy, claiming he has just $8,000 left to his name with liabilities totaling a couple million.
The younger brother of Backstreet Boy Nick Carter is $2,204,854 in debt, owing $31,166 to American Express. The singer, who still tours, owes 1,368,140 to the IRS. He lists his monthly expenses as $2,005 and makes $1,998.75 per month on average.
According to TMZ, Carter listed all of his assets, which include a $500 television, Louis Vuitton backpack, two MacBooks and more.
Steve Honig, Carter’s rep, commented on the Chapter 7 filing, saying, "the overwhelming majority of the debt he is asking to be discharged is from more than 10 years ago when he was a minor and not in control of his finances."
According to Daily News the 25-year-old has accomplished a lot in his music career – going platinum twice and gold once. However, he took ten years off due to family problems and has just released a new single called "Where Do We Begin."
Carter’s sister, Leslie, passed away in 2012.
