Adam Driver, who plays the boyfriend of Lena Dunham’s character in Girls, has denied a rumor that he would star as Dick Grayson/Nightwing in the Man of Steel sequel, currently titled Batman vs. Superman.
Earlier this month, it was reported by TheWrap that the actor was a top choice to play an older Dick Grayson, the character who grew up as Batman’s sidekick Robin. In the new movie, Grayson would already be an adult and would be Nightwing, according to the rumors. Warner Bros. was reportedly looking for a tall actor, a requirement the 29-year-old certainly fits.
However, the Frances Ha actor told The Huffington Post that there was no truth to the rumors. “No, there's no truth to it,” he said. “I don't know whoever put it on there. I don't know how these things get [started] -- I don't know how it first came about.”
Driver was happy to know that some on the Internet could see him in a superhero movie, but said that others probably wouldn’t like it. “Yeah, and there are probably just as many, ‘F**k! What the Hell?’” he said.
Driver will be seen in the Coen Brothers’ Inside Llewyn Davis and also stars in Warner Bros.’ This Is Where I Leave You.
