Marvin Paige, a veteran casting director in his eighties, passed away at Cedars-Sinai Medical Hospital on Wednesday.
Paige died after suffering injuries in a traffic accident in October and was never able to recover, Deadline reports.
He worked in the casting field for 60 years and then worked with PR firms to "wrangle" celebrities into participating in various special events. "Marvin Paige was the go-to guy for wrangling iconic celebrities to be involved with major events," publicist Edward Lozzi said.
"Either the Academy Awards, Oscar parties, Turner Classic Movies with Robert Osborne - it's who you called."
Paige was the casting director on Breakfast At Tiffany's, General Hospital and even the Star Trek: The Motion Picture.
According to Variety, Paige also owned a large Hollywood archive, He was nominated twice for Artios from the Casting Society of America for his work on General Hospital.
Paige's Motion Picture and Television Research Archive was often used by such shows as Biography, Backstory and American Masters.
Deadline notes Lozzi said, "This is a big loss to the entire Hollywood community."
