In a new autobiography written by a casting director, it was revealed that Beyoncé refused to audition for the role of Princess Tiana in Disney's Princess and the frog.
The Daily Mail UK reports that casting director Jen Rudin spoke of the singer's refusal in her new autobiography, Confessions of a Casting Director.
"Beyoncé expected an offer, but wouldn't audition and so she didn't get one," Rudin said.
Tyra Banks and Jennifer Hudson also wanted the role, as well as Alicia Keys, who auditioned three times.
The role eventually went to Anika Noni Rose, who worked alongside Beyoncé and Hudson in the 2006 film Dreamgirls.
"It went to Anika Noni Rose, who was the most qualified," Rudin said.
Beyoncé did eventually land a part in Disney's Epic as Queen Tara.
The Sydney Morning Herald also reported that Beyoncé made $40 million in 10 shows from her Mrs. Carter Tour in Australia, so turning down the role of Disney's first African American princess didn't hurt her financially at all.
