A Kohl's in Romeoville, Chicago saw a bit more chaos than usual this Black Friday, as a man was charged with attempted murder and two two others face felony charges as well.

According to the Associated Press, a man attempting to shoplift jumped in a car and closed the door on a pursuing officer's arm. The driver then drove off, dragging the officer with them until another officer opened fire and shot the driver in the arm.

"A second responding officer verbally ordered the driver multiple times to stop the vehicle as it continued in the parking lot, dragging the officer," a statement said, reports the Chicago Tribune. "After repeated orders to stop, the officer fire three to four shots at the driver."

While the driver, who remains hospitalized, has not been charged, the passenger, identified as 51-year-old Robert Russell, was charged with attempted murder. A third man, 28-year-old Gerald Chamberlain was also charged with felony theft.

The officer dragged by the vehicle was released from the hospital with an injured shoulder.
