Chief Keef may be free from jail in Chicago, but under one condition: He has to check into rehab in California for his marijuana addiction.
TMZ reports that the 19-year-old rapper had been on probation for speeding but got himself back in court for testing positive for marijuana from three drug tests.
Due to the fact that Chief Keef is addicted to weed, a Chicago judge declared him to rehab in a California facility. After his term is over in rehab, he will forced to do some community service back home in Chicago.
According to This is 50, the rapper — whose real name is Keith Cozart — will spend 90 days of rehab in the Cook County Department of Corrections because of multiple failed drug tests. However, his lawyer was able to convince the judges that he would be able to receive better treatment at a California facility.
According to Chicago Tribune, the treatment facility in California will be one of the Promises Treatment Centers, which is a high cost, for-profit treatment program that has been known to take care of Lindsay Lohan and Britney Spears. This treatment will be expensive, and Cozart has to pay for it all by himself.
Chief Keef’s next court date is Dec. 12 at the Skokie courthouse, and the judge will review his progress in rehab at that time.
