A Cirque du Soleil performer remains hospitalized after an accident during a show in Las Vegas Friday night.

According to People, the unnamed performer was attempting the “Wheel of Death” act during the 7 p.m. Zarkana show. Something went wrong as the man slipped and fell off the wheel. The show was immediately stopped and the performer was rushed to University Medical Center. The man is reportedly in stable condition and should be release from the hospital within the next few days.

The “Wheel of Death” act is one in which two performers execute tricks while balancing on a pair of spinning wheels that rotate high above the stage.

Even before the latest tragic accident, the acrobatic circus company faced fines, reports CNN. After the death of Sarah Guillot-Guyard on June 29, when a wire broke and she fell from almost 100 feet up, the Nevada Occupational Safety and Health Administration said Cirque du Soleil faced fines of over $25,000 for safety violations. Guillot-Guyard was the first Cirque du Soleil member to die during a performance in front of an audience in the company's 29-year history.
