As expected, time has run out for ABC to resurrect Body of Proof, the crime drama starring Dana Delany, for the current TV season. The star herself confirmed the news on Twitter.
Last month, it was reported by Deadline that ABC was considering bringing back the show, which was surprisingly cancelled back in May. The show had averaged 11 million viewers and a 2.0 18-49 rating and that would have been a huge lift for the network, especially after the drama Lucky 7 was cancelled after two episodes.
However, ABC would have had to move very quickly in order to get the show up and running for the 2013-2014 midseason. It looks like that time just ran out, as Delany has confirmed that the revival isn’t happening.
“Sorry to disappoint some, but #bodyofproof will not be resurrected,” the actress wrote on Twitter. “May she rest in peace. Time for new adventures!”

ABC and ABC Studios could think about reviving it for the summer, but as Deadline noted today, many of the show’s key personnel are already moving on. Delany is interested in a doing another project, while executive producer Matthew Gross is working on a new ABC drama.
