Upon hearing the first verse and chorus of “Ghost,” by Darling Parade, it feels as though the song is being performed by alternative rock ‘n’ roll band, Paramore. Instead of Hayley Williams singing, the leading lady in this single is actually Kristin Kearns. Kearns has a similar tone and inflection that sounds like Williams but Kearns also shines with her own unique vocal delivery.

In 2007, Darling Parade came together in Nashville, Tennessee and is now breaking into the mainstream alternative rock scene with their first full length album, Battle Scars & Broken Hearts. The whole album contains the theme of overcoming struggles both personally and externally.

Until now, fans have only heard EP’s from Darling Parade, this full length album shows how far the band has come musically and how their influences are forming a strong, alternative rock sound. “Ghost” as the lead of single, combines these positive attributes from the album and introduces Darling Parade to a new rock driven audience.

The single is impressive musically and the music video that was released to compliment “Ghost,” helps to bring Darling Parades’ entire image, sound and style together. The video is described as being the action music video for “Ghost,” and it lives up to its title. The video is fast paced, intense and highlights the haunting style of "Ghost."

This single and video proves that Darling Parade is ready to move out of the shadow of Paramore and land firmly in their own spot in the alternative rock scene.
