David Beckham is probably one of the most famous and most recognizable people on the planet. He is a famous soccer star and is married to a former popstar. But, could we soon be calling him Sir David Beckham?
According to The Sun, David Beckham is now on a short list to be knighted by the Queen in the coming new year. There is a lot that goes into a decision to knight a person, but it appears that one of the factors is actually finances. Beckham is said to be worth over $265 million, and the royal family has been checking his accounts for some time now to assure the funds are still there. There is no real feeling by people close to the proceedings that there will be an issue with Beckham’s nomination, but the final results will not be known until the end of November.
David Beckham is married to Victoria “Posh” Beckham. She is a former member of the Spice Girls.
