Former Italian politician Silvio Berlusconi has been accused by an Italian court for bribing witnesses in his prostitution trial.
The Associated Press reported that the Italian politician was expelled from Parliament after being convicted of tax fraud.
Berlusconi will not be able to hold any public office for six years, but he says he will still be involved in politics. "Also from outside the Parliament, we can continue to fight for our liberty," he said.
He was found guilty for tax fraud, but his trouble is far from over. Berlusconi was convicted for paying to have sex with an underage prostitute and trying to cover it.
Now Independent reported that Berlusconi has been accused of bribing prostitutes that he was involved with to give false testimonies.
The former politician would hold, what is called, “bunga bunga” parties where he would bring a lot of women to sleep with.
After the police raided the homes of the women that attended his parties, it is said that he gathered these women together and offered to pay them each 2,500 ($3,400) euros for them to deny that the dinners had sexual undertones.
Daily Mail reported that the underage girl that Berlusconi propositioned was Karima El Mahroug, who was a former night club dancer and under 18 at the time.
The people representing him maintain that the former politician is innocent and they will be fighting against the six year ban, on him, from holding public office and the conviction that he tampered with evidence in the case against him.
