Paramount Pictures is making sure that no one forgets that Anchorman: The Legend Continues is hitting theaters next month. From a successful series of Dodge commercials to a museum exhibit, Will Ferrell’s famous San Diego anchorman is everywhere. Now, he’s even getting a major university, Emerson College, to name its communication school after the fictional character.
Ferrell is scheduled to visit the Boston college on Dec. 4 and will show up in character. According to My Fox Boston, the school of communication will be renamed the “Ron Burgundy School of Communication” for the day. Burgundy will “share his path to journalism greatness,” the school said.
Burgundy “understands the power of media, as well as hairspray, firsthand,” College President Lee Pelton said, reports the Associated Press. In a statement, Burgundy said he will tell the students that it’s not easy to be a top name in the news business, “especially if you don't have good hair.”
Ferrell will also host an early screening of the movie for students and will give an introduction.
Anchorman 2, the sequel to the 2004 cult comedy, will hit theaters on Dec. 20. Other promotional efforts for the film have included a successful Dodge Durango series of commercials and a Newseum exhibit.
The rest of the cast includes Christina Applegate, Paul Rudd and Steve Carell.
