Marshall “Eminem” Mathers, 41 has been successful in the rap game for over a decade. With his eighth studio album The Marshall Mathers LP 2 releasing on Tuesday, Eminem is hungrier than ever. The famous white rapper just gave some insight on when he think he’ll stop rapping for good.
13 years after, The Marshall Mathers LP dropped, The Marshall Mathers is coming out but Eminem told Billboard that a Marshall Mathers 3 in 2026 would be wishful thinking.
He still has the passion for music and basically thinks the only thing that will make him retire is the lost of hunger for music like he still has.
“I hope not, “ Eminem says. “I don’t know what I’ll be doing as far as whether I’ll still be making music. I’d like to keep doing it as I still have the passion for it. But I hope to always be involved in hip-hop in one form or another. Because when it comes down to it, this is really all I know.”
His passion for music is undeniable over these last 15 years. His last album Recovery was downloaded illegally but it still managed to sell 741,000 copies in its first week. He hopes to be just as successful especially since his album has already leaked. In this funny clip, he makes public service announcement on music piracy.
Eminem is still rapping at 40 which is funny because back in 2009, in his interview with Complex he didn’t think he would.
“I don’t want to be a rapper when I’m 40 and the next time we talk it will be, ‘I don’t want to be a rapper when I’ 50.’ Sixty is the cutoff. I can’t be no 60 year old rapper, son!”
His new album will be out this Tuesday, make sure to grab a copy.
