In 1999, a young rapper from Detroit, Michigan shocked the world with his unique lyrical delivery, noticeable style and outrageous lyrics. Since Eminem released, The Slim Shady LP, he has been climbing the charts and making his own mark on rap and music history.
Fast forward now to 2013 and Eminem has officially returned to the top of the rap industry. With this latest album, MMLP2 topping the charts, other artists are receiving a reminder that Eminem is the “Rap God” of this industry.
The music video for “Rap God,” has been released. This creative take on “Rap God,” features a few different styles that have been used in other Eminem videos. The video features Eminem free styling, a few imaginative visuals and some mischievous puns. “Rap God,” feels like a best of video from Eminem. This style combines the need to focus on Eminem’s lyrical performance and yet doesn’t take itself seriously.
This video is a perfect compliment to the single. “Rap God,” keeps up with the fast pace lyrical delivery that Eminem puts forward on the track. The video respects and embraces how aggressive and complex the lyrics are in the track.
Eminem is back on the top of the charts and has no plans on leaving anytime soon. The Detroit rapper has gone through public struggles and musical failures, but in the end Eminem proved that you could move beyond being just a comeback story and reach levels of success that few can ever touch in this ever changing music industry.
After all, why be the king of rap when you can be a God?
