Eminem and legendary producer Rick Rubin took to the Saturday Night Live stage this weekend. Slim Shady appears to be back in this hip-hop performance. Having Rubin on the side of the stage for “Berzerk” was what really put the performance over the top.
The rapper performed two singles, “Berzerk” and “Survival,” off of his upcoming album, MMLP2. Billboard.com added that both singles, “Berzerk” and “Survival” are both top 20 singles on the Hot 100 charts.
Eminem also performed his single, “Survival.” “Survival” is featured in the video game, “Call of Duty: Ghosts.” Normally the hook is performed by Liz Rodrigues, on SNL the hook was performed by Skylar Grey.
MTV.com reported that Eminem left the acting to the stars of SNL and did not appear in any skits. Eminem did make a hilarious guest appearance in promotions for the show, which also featured, Kerry Washington. The skit feature Eminem standing in silence.
It appears that Eminem is embracing his original roots and going back towards the days of Slim Shady. The rapper's Recovery album had a different sound compared to the singles that have come off of MMLP2.
