Fans of Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele will have to wait just a bit longer for the Fifty Shades of Grey film. The film has been delayed until February 2015, now set to be released during Valentine’s Day weekend.

The film, based on the enormously popular adult romance novels by E. L. James first published in 2011, was originally intended to be released during the summer of next year. However, due to lead actor Charlie Hunnam dropping out of the role, the film has been pushed back six months.

However, Universal Pictures representative Donna Langley claims that the setback in date was inevitable and had nothing to do with Hunnam’s departure from the project, reports Mirror.

Jamie Dornan has now taken on the role of Christian Grey. Dakota Johnson, star of Fox sitcom Ben and Kate, will star opposite of Dornan.

James, whose three novels have sold over 70 million copies, is a co-producer on the film, according to BBC.
