Shawn Levy has been chosen to helm 20th Century Fox's City That Sailed, which also officially has Will Smith on-board.
Deadline first reported the news that the movie is starting to move forward now that it has a director and star. Audrey Wells will be writing the script for the film.
The Men In Black actor and James Lassiter's Overbrook Entertainment will produce the film. Levy and Fox are already working together for the third Night At The Museum film, which is set for release on Christmas 2014.
The announcement marks some good news for Smith, who has long been rumored to be attached to the project since 2010, as he recently appeared in tabloids for allegedly cheating on his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, with Margot Robbie.
Robie is his much younger co-star in the upcoming movie Focus. The news was reported when photos of the two co-stars in a compromising situation. Smith is seen shirtless and Robie is lifting up her shirt.
The 23-year-old actress came forward a couple days later to say that they were just "goofing around" since shooting was done.
Sources close to the situation said that the photos were taken on the set in a photo booth and "they were just goofing around. Will is just like that. There's nothing more to it."
