The Home Depot, known for being a tool haven for lovers of power tools, has found itself in hot water.
The largest home improvement retailer recently tweeted a racist tweet to promote ESPN College Game Day, on their twitter that angered many of its followers.

The tweet has a photo of two African-American men and a monkey on drums and the caption above it says: “Which drummer is not like the others? See more @CollegeGameDay pics at hdgameday.com #HDgameday #football.”
When the retailer received backlash for their tweet they removed it and apologized reported ABC News. However, the tweet had been retweeted by many that simply deleting it will not make the situation go away.
According to NBC News Home Depot has removed the tweet and issued an apology calling the tweet dumb, stating they have fired the person responsible for the tweet, and assuring their customers that they have zero tolerance for such stupid and offensive actions.
We have zero tolerance for anything so stupid and offensive. Deeply sorry. We terminated agency and individual who posted it.

Why the racist tweet was tweeted or how it happened is the question that confuses their customers and the retailer as well. The retailer told NBC, “We’re also closely reviewing our social media procedures to determine how this happened, and how to ensure it never happens again.”
