Hugh Jackman just won't relinquish those claws. Twentieth Century Fox is in early negotiations with director James Mangold for a sequel to The Wolverine.
Mangold is talking with Fox about writing a treatment for a sequel to the fairly successful follow up film, Deadline is exclusively reporting.
Fox became interested in pursuing another sequel as The Wolverine has managed to rake in $413 million worldwide, with $280 million coming from overseas box offices.
Since a deal is being negotiated, details on plot are unknown at this point. It is known that Lauren Shuler Donner, who has been a producer on all the X-Men films, will be back to produce the sequel.
It will be interesting to see how Jackman fits another X-Men movie into his schedule, which is beginning to fill up. He is currently set to be in Neil Blomkamp's Chappie, which he confirmed in September. Though he might not be filming for long as he said that he would be "there for a couple of weeks at the beginning of next year."
Jackman is also set to work on the P.T. Barnum biopic, The Greatest Showman on Earth and might be contemplating a return to Broadway for Houdini. The Australian actor can next be seen in the upcoming X-Men: Days of Future Past next summer.
