After being offered over seven billion dollars in relief, Iran has agreed to cease its pursuit of nuclear activity throughout the country.
Iran will neutralize its build up of stored uranium and stop growing plants that might be related to creating plutonium, and, in return, Iran will receive fiscal support from the United States.
The United States and Iran participated in an international discussion at a United Nations talk in Geneva, Switzerland. According to BBC, “a breakthrough had been made in Geneva shortly before 03:00 local time on Sunday.” Representatives from around the world had been in deep discussion since Wednesday.
The deal is reported to last at least six months while a more permanent agreement is created, said the Chicago Tribune.
Iranian President Hassan Rouhani claimed that the deal acknowledged his country’s right to the use of uranium at a lower level, such as in nuclear power plants, an important factor that lead to Iran’s compliance to the arrangement.
