James Arthur, a popular singer that found fame with his appearances on the British version of the hit show The X Factor, started a little Twitter war this week when he criticized the band One Direction. His remarks quickly turned One Direction fans against him.
Apparently, this whole Twitter war started on Thursday, November 7, 2013, when James Arthur posted a tweet that bashed “boybands” in general. The actual tweet read “F**k boybands! Bring on the hate I don't wanna be popular. Apart from JLS who are genuinely the coolest people I've met in music.” This had One Direction fans sending James hundreds of messages, because James had previously made comments about One Direction being a “marketing product” and a “boyband” in the past. Because of his past comments, One Direction fans believe that James was indeed making reference to their favorite band.
All of the negativity has not seemed to bother James much. He was in Manchester’s Albert Square Friday night for the lighting of the city Christmas lights.
