Justin Bieber has released a new single off of his upcoming album. The single is “All Bad” and has a very different sound than fans are used to hearing from Bieber.

The single has an instrumental feel that would match that of a Drake or Frank Ocean track. This latest effort from Bieber clearly demonstrates that he is looking to advance his musical sound and expand beyond his teen pop music fame.

The song has a steady, slow beat throughout the three-minute performance. This single feels more intimate and honest than fans have seen from Bieber before. The song is still heavily produced and does try to sound similar to that of hip hop artists currently on the charts, but it expresses the need that musician’s feel, which is to be able to experiment as an artist.

Bieber has a soft, echoing tone throughout the single, his vocal delivery feels like a whisper compared to singles like “As Long As You Love Me,” when Bieber really shows off that he has a strong vocal range as an artist.

Bieber is discovering and trying to expand his musical horizons but only time will tell if his pre-teen fans will be ok with the advancement. Bieber is a long way from “Baby” with “All Bad.”
