It seems that R. Kelly is collaborating with a variety of artists in the pop music realm, from Lady Gaga to now Justin Bieber; R. Kelly is making a return to the music industry in the form of collaborations. Kelly will be reaching a whole new set of fans with his role on Bieber's new single.
Bieber has been releasing tracks off his upcoming album on YouTube. The latest single to be released is “PYD” which features Kelly.
The song has a slow tempo and has a gloomy tone. "PYD" really shines when Kelly and Bieber come together on the track and sing in harmony. The song builds through the vocal delivery of both Bieber and Kelly but the song feels sluggish.
“PYD” has sensual and even sexual themes throughout which might come as a shock to some Bieber fans.
Bieber is once again trying to break past his teen pop music label. Bieber is not going to the lengths that fellow pop music queen, Miley Cyrus is but Bieber is trying to push the envelope on his image and music.
Based on the singles that have been released, this album from Bieber feels very modern and has a slower tempo than his dance driven albums from before. Bieber will have to wait and see if this album will connect with his preteen and teen fans.
