Fast & Furious director Justin Lin may be moving on from that action franchise, but that doesn’t mean he’s leaving Universal Studios for good. In fact, Lin has reportedly signed on to direct the next film in the Jason Bourne franchise.

According to Deadline, which first reported the news, Lin will direct the fifth film in the franchise, last year’s The Bourne Legacy. That film was directed by Tony Gilroy and starred Jeremy Renner, who took over the lead role from Matt Damon. The film grossed $276 million worldwide.

Renner starred as Aaron Cross and his character’s story will continue in the fifth Bourne film. Anthony Peckham (Sherlock Holmes, Invictus) is writing. Frank Marshall and Captivate Entertainment’s Ben Smith and Jeffrey Weiner are producing and Universal is hoping that the film will join the long parade of summer 2015 blockbusters.

Lin handed the mantle of Fast & Furious director to InsidiousJames Wan in April. Wan will direct a seventh film in that franchise.

Lin directed four Fast & Furious films and his other credits include Annapolis and episodes of Community.
