Instead of riding on a white horse, Lady Gaga took it a bit further during the ArtRAVE release party for her third full-length album, ArtPOP, on Monday night in Brooklyn.
She rode in on a white, flying dress-suit.
The flying suit was made of fiberglass, had a total of six mechanical rotors, and was made to look like a white gown. Unsurprisingly, when it finally came time to launch her suit, Gaga did little more than hover a few feet up and forward, wrote CNET News. Hopefully her album’s launch is a bit more successful.
Named Volantis, the suit was designed by Lady Gaga herself, along with Studio XO and Techhaus, the technology department of Gaga’s team, as reported by NYDailyNews.
About the flop, Gaga said that this was “a small step for Volantis, but a big step for Gaga.”
Gaga also said that the aircraft was a metaphor for how technology represents youth, who are “even more important than me.”
Videos of the even revealed that Gaga was not the one controlling the dress, but instead, a trained professional was piloting the aircraft.
Artpop was released on Monday, November 11.
