If you’d prefer not to watch football or head out in the cold to stand in line for Black Friday Thanksgiving night, you can listen to the soulful sound of Mary J. Blige. The singer is headlining a Christmas special for Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ new Revolt network.

According to The Los Angeles Times, Blige’s A Mary Christmas special, which shares the name of her new Christmas album, will be hosted by Queen Latifah. The performance will only run an hour, but Blige will get in versions of classics like “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” and “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.”

In other Blige news, the “Be Without You” singer also gave an in-depth interview to the BBC this week, covering the impact Whitney Houston had on her life.

“It was a shock - I lost it completely,” Blige said on the BBC’s Women’s Hour. “But I gained by self-love and self-respect even more, because she was too important to the world.”

The Houston Chronicle notes that Blige also recalled her early days, noting that she doesn’t remember much.

“Early on, I don’t remember what was going on. … I was just there singing. Everything was wrong. There was no support; I was a deer in the headlights. I was just spinning and trying to survive,” he said. “That included everything – alcohol, drugs, anything to keep myself numb from seeing what the truth was, which is nobody cared.”

Blige’s Christmas special airs on Revolt on Thursday at 8 p.m.
