The ever popular Mission: Impossible franchise is not only ready to start production on its latest 5th entry of the series following the massive success of Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol but is now reported for a Christmas day release date in 2015.

Tom Cruise is reportedly coming back for a fifth outing in the franchise, and according to The Guardian it will be directed by Christopher McQuarrie (Jack Reacher) who also wrote Bryan Singer's The Usual Suspects. Mission: Impossible 5 will be written by Drew Pearce who's most recent film was Iron Man 3.

Of course, if you didn't know already Mission: Impossible 5 is being produced by none other than JJ Abrams, who has another franchise film being released in December, 2015. Star Wars Episode VII. According to Variety Mission: Impossible 5 will open one week after Star Wars. December, 2015 is going to be a busy month for Abrams.
