Dayna Morales, a Bridgewater, New Jersey restaurant server said that a customer refused to giver her a tip just because she is gay.

On Wednesday night, Morales, a former Marine, was working at the Gallop Asian Bistro and was serving a family of four. During the meal, the family had no issues with her, she told WABC. However, at the start, she knew something was up. “Normal introduction. 'My name is Dana. I'll be taking care of you.' Right away the mom looked at me and said, 'I thought you were going to say your name was Dan,’” Morales recalled.

The family racked up a $93 bill and when it came to pay, they told her they would not give her a tip. They couldn’t actually say it to her face, though. Instead, they wrote in on the receipt.

“It says, 'I'm sorry but I cannot tip because I do not agree with your lifestyle and how you live your life,'” Morales told WABC.

The restaurant wouldn't give WABC the family’s name, since that’s private. Morales said that she never told the family that she is gay. “It wasn't he said, she said. They actually wrote it, proof they said it,” she said.

The receipt went viral after she shared it with the Have A Gay Day Facebook page. “THIS is what her kids will grow up learning and that I served in the Marines to keep ignorant people like them free,” she wrote with the photo.

“We don't tolerate discrimination of any kind. Those customers are not welcome here,” Morales’ manager told NBC New York. “We support Dayna 100 percent. She's a wonderful person and a wonderful server, and we are extremely proud of her and the way she handled this situation.”
