One Direction is going on tour in North America next year, the group confirmed on ABC’s Good Morning America this morning. While fans will be able to buy tickets next week, they will have to wait months before the tour kicks off in August.
The group will be taking their Where We Are tour to North America beginning with a date at Toronto’s Rogers Centre on Aug. 1, 2014. Other key dates include MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on Aug. 4; Chicago’s Soldier Field on Aug. 29 and the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans on Sept. 25. The tour will finish on Oct. 5 at Sun Life Stadium in Miami.
“We're bringing it to North America,” Niall Horan said on GMA. “Tickets go on sale the seventh of December this year. We'll be playing our first show on the first of August in Toronto.”
The group also includes Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne, Zayn Malik and Harry Styles. They have only been together for three years, since debuting on the U.K. X Factor. This morning, they sang, “Best Song Ever," "Story of My Life" and "What Makes You Beautiful.”
Their new album, Midnight Memories has already been a hit internationally and is out today in the U.S. They perform on NBC’s Saturday Night Live on Dec. 7.
