One Direction has released a new music video for their single “Story of My Life.” The video features the band members processing photography in a dark room. Each member of the band interacts with their pictures, then performs a large number surrounded by the images they created.
This music video takes on a different style for the boy band. It feels more passionate from One Direction, who can normally be seen doing elaborate dance numbers and being surrounded by screaming fans. “Story of My Life” is a surprise because it shows a personal side to the band members.
Song wise, it is also a different direction for the boy band; this single showcases their vocal ability and has more artistic elements to it. The harmonies are great and each individual band member displays what they can do as a singer.
Both the video and the single from One Direction are impressive and might change the opinions of some music fans that were previously against them. “Story of My Life” is original and is captured well in the music video. This is a wise move for the boy band, as their preteen fan base will be growing up and searching for a new musical style from the band.
