Fans have been hoping for an Outkast reunion for years, and it looks like that might actually happen soon. Andre 3000 and Big Boi are reportedly in ongoing negotiations to reunite next year for Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.
The duo, responsible for such hits as "Hey Ya!" and "The Way You Move,” are in talks to use Coachella as their kick-off then continue their reunion with other festival dates.
Various sources have confirmed to Billboard that the hitmakers are definitely in discussions to make this happen.
In February of last year, Andre 3000 told GQ there were no plans for a reunion on the horizon.
“There's been a lot of talk on the Internet about an Outkast album and I have to say that as of now, there are no plans for another Outkast album,” he said at the time.
Outkast’s album Speakerboxxx/The Love Below earned them a Grammy for album of the year in 2004. They went their separate ways in 2006 after they made the movie Idlewild and the soundtrack to accompany it.
They have both embarked upon solo projects, with Big Boi releasing two solo albums - Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty (2010) and Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors 2012 – and Andre 3000 preparing for the Jimi Hendrix biopic All is By My Side. He’s worked with various artists to lend his talents for guest verses.
