Singer Pharrell Williams has just launched the longest music video in history with the video for “Happy.” The video will run 24 hours and features cameos from celebrities dancing throughout Los Angeles.
The video can be viewed at 24HoursofHappy.com and is currently (as of this writing) six hours in. According to NME, Odd Future, Magic Johnson, Steve Carell, Jimmy Kimmel and other celebrities have already been spotted dancing to the upbeat track.
As TheWrap notes, the site allows users to chose different times of day or in “real time.” You can then share specific moments on Facebook or Twitter and leave comments on the site.
Williams was recently featured in GQ and discussed the hits “Blurred Lines” and “Get Lucky,” songs by Robin Thicke and Daft Punk, respectively. Both tracks hit No. 1 on around the world.
“Both songs are for people who need a break,” he told the magazine. “There’s a lot of f**ked-up travesty in the world. Sometimes you just need a Hallmark card. Sometimes you just need to shake your ass.”
Well, it’s hard not to dance to “Happy.” The song originally appeared in Universal’s hit film Despicable Me 2.
