Michael Shamberg and Stacey Sher, partners at Double Feature Films, are splitting up as their movie interests have begun to differ over the recent years.
Deadline first reported the news that the two were splitting up amicably. They have produced numerous films over their 22 years together.
Their resume includes producing such films as Pulp Fiction, Garden State, Get Shorty and Django Unchained.
While they may be splitting up, Shamberg and Sher will remain partners for television as they have a first look deal with AMC.
Sher talked to TheWrap saying, “We’re splitting up but continuing happily with great love to make the rest of our movies together. We love each other, it’s very amicable.”
Shamberg added, “I second that emotion. We have different types of movies we want to make. It’s very personal. I couldn’t put a finger on it. Our taste diverges somewhat which you’ll see going forward. But we haven’t figured it out, quite.”
It’s possible that Double Feature Films may be shutting down due to the split. The producing pair still are working on Walk Among the Tombstones with Liam Neeson and recently finished up on Zach Braff’s Wish I Was Here.
