Reese Witherspoon and Robert DeNiro set to star in Nancy Meyer’s The Intern movie, gets picked up by Warner Bros, cutting Worldview Entertainment out of production.

Deadline had reported at the beginning of the November that Worldview Entertainment has agreed to finance the film. In a surprise move, according to The Hollywood Reporter Warner Bros. stepped in front of Worldview and picked up distribution and financing for the film. This cuts Worldview out of any production or dealings with the film.

In the film, Witherspoon will play the founder of a highly successful fashion website who is prompted to take part in her company’s Senior Intern Program. She is assigned to DeNiro, and the two clash between old-school and new-school business minds and tactics.

The budget for the film is a whopping $35 million which actually created a lot of buzz at the American Film Market, where it was being shopped for backing for the film.
