Solange Knowles has managed to create an identity all of her own outside of her superstar sister Beyoncé’s multi-million dollar career. Unlike other siblings of stars, this talented songstress shines in a completely different light.
The R&B singer released her single “Cash In” from her new compilation album Saint Heron. The song features an eclectic mix of instrumentals, soulful vocals, and impressive harmonies. The singer takes R&B to a new level with her experimental take on the timeless genre.
The back-up singers support Solange’s lead as she gradually climbs through pitch, showcasing her robust range. The lyrics are simply stunning, as Solange paints a meaningful love story that focuses on throwing away superficiality and materialism. In the chorus she sings, “Take your money to the bank, tell em we gon throw it all away.” In the last verse the lyrics “Tell em we got soul and we gon stay/Righteous fallen people pray/But we got something real /That you're going to hate” solidify the message Solange is sending about love. The track will simultaneously evoke airy, emotional, and peaceful feelings from listeners.
Saint Heron will feature newly discovered talents such as Sampha, Jhené Aiko, Cassie, and Kelela. The young talent released Saint Heron as her first curated album within her new boutique label, Saint Records.
