During his appearance on Andy Cohen's Watch What Happens Live, Terrence Howard reveals that Robert Downey Jr. is the reason he was not involved in the Iron Man sequels.
WENN reports that on Thursday's episode of Cohen's show, Howard explained that it was Downey Jr. who caused his release from the popular movie franchise.
"It turns out that the person I helped to become Iron Man, when it was time to re-up for the second one, took the money that was supposed to go to me and pushed me out," Howard told Cohen.
In the 2008 Iron Man, Howard played the role of James "Rhodey" Roades, an army Colonel and high-trained agent who was working for the government, and was good friends with Downey's character, Tony Stark.
According to an Entertainment Weekly article from Nov. 2008, sources claimed that Howard was hard to work with, and that producers were unhappy with his performance, despite being the highest paid out of the rest of the cast.
Howard explained that wanting more money was not the reason, it was the fact that they offered him less than what was promised - an estimated 50 to 80 percent decrease from what he was originally offered - why he decided to leave.
Don Cheadle replaced Howard's role, and the Iron Man franchise has already made close to $2 billion.
When asked about his current relationship with Downey, Howard only had good things to say.
"Oh, I love him. God is going to bless him."
Howard is currently starring in The Best Man Holiday in theaters now.
