Thailand isn’t known for celebrating Christmas since it is mostly a Buddhist country, but its citizens will be known for creating the largest human Christmas tree.

The Associated Press reported that the country’s largest shopping mall wanted to break the Guinness world record for the largest human Christmas tree.

The mall succeeded with using 852 school children, between the ages of 5-15, in green and red hoodies to create the Christmas tree.

The record for largest human tree was first held by Germany in 2011. According to Guinness World Records, the tree was made up of 672 participants.

A representative from the Guinness World Record was there to certify the event as the largest human Christmas tree.

Thailand is not the only country that wants to break the record for largest human Christmas tree.

According to the Edmonton Journal, on Nov.15 some people in the city of Lacombe in Alberta, Canada are hoping to break the world record for the largest human tree as well, they hope to use a thousand people.
