The Killers’ new video for “Just Another Girl” is just like flipping pages of a photo album with a wistful look on your face, as you travel down the memory lane.
Glee’s Dianna Agron does a remarkable job in portraying Brandon Flowers in the video, as she travels from set to set and visually takes us through band’s musical history and sets of the songs that have been major hits in band’s career. What can you see?
Well, certainly Agron wearing moustache as Flowers did in “All These Things That I've Done.” That old familiar jacket with feathers from “Human,” as well as that strange, yet awesome red costume from “Spaceman.”
Agron also takes us through above-mentioned sets, as well as those of “Mr. Brightside” and “Bones.” In the beginning we can also see a snippet from “Runaways” and “When You Were Young” as well as the snippets of all other videos that were included.
“Just Another” girl is an energetic, drums and guitar-driven track featuring those glorious keyboards and an intense drum finish. It is certainly very The Killers in every sense, bursting with energy, but so vulnerable and wistful when it comes to lyrics.
Step out into the Indian dust/I can feel the cracks in my spirit, they're starting to bust/Drive by your house, nobody's home/I'm trying to tell myself that I'm better off alone, Flowers sings.
Great to know that four studio albums later, The Killers haven’t lost their impeccable storytelling skills. I swear if you combine all their songs together, you get a novel.
“Just Another Girl” is a track featured on their greatest hits album titled Direct Hits (2013), as well as Direct Hits (Deluxe), which are now available on iTunes.
