The beloved cult classic The Princess Bride may be taking its turn for theatrics. Broadway, to be exact. Disney is trying to push to get The Princess Bride adapted for a stage presence, and from the announcement, fans and others alike are more than exciting and willing to hand out their hard earned money to see Andre the Giant and crew get into mischief on the big stage.
According to Empire, Disney is working with the original film's screenwriter William Goldman (who also wrote the 1973 novel) to helm the broadway version as well, and at this time it's still cloudy as to whether to play will be that, or a musical. Disney chief Alan Horn address working with Goldman and being part of such an experience saying, "For all those years and a few more, I’ve been friends with the brilliant Bill Goldman, and to now have a stage production of this film in development at Disney is honestly a dream come true."
Once pre-production starts for the stage adaptations, don't expect to see it anytime soon as the production for a stage play on broadway takes a lot of hard, and arduous time to get through according to CNN. But regardless, that is only more time to get more fans and keep currents ones all the more excited.
