Universal announced the release date for their reboot of The Mummy, as well as new dates for Legendary's Seventh Son and Warcraft.
The release date for the new Mummy film will bow on April 22, 2016, Deadline reports. At the moment, the date has no other major films opening that weekend.
Andy Muschietti is helming the reboot while John Spaihts wrote the screenplay. Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci will produce the movie.
The Jeff Bridges-led Seventh Son has been pushed back from its Jan. 17, 2014 date to over a year later on Feb. 6, 2015, according to Variety. The film opens a week before Universal's Fifty Shades of Grey. The film has already been pushed back once before.
Seventh Son is based off of Joseph Delaney's novel The Spook's Apprentice and also stars Ben Barnes as the title character. The supernatural movie follows Barnes' young farmhand who must fight against the dark queen, played by Julianne Moore.
With Star Wars: Episode VII having been moved to Dec. 18, 2015, Universal and Legendary wisely decided to push Warcraft back to March 11, 2016. Warcraft is the Duncan Jones directed film based off of Blizzard's popular MMO property.
The two film studios also announced that the Jennifer Lopez film The Boy Next Door will be released Jan. 23, 2015.
