Fans have petitioned Victoria's Secret to make Carmen Carrera, a favorite on Season 3 of “RuPaul’s Drag Race," their first transgender model. As a transgender lingerie model, Carrera would not only be making history, but also empowering the entire LGBTIQQA community. Carrera is proof that a woman can be beautiful and sexy even if she wasn't originally born into a woman's body.

The petition reads:
"This petition is for Victoria's Secret to seriously consider taking Carmen Carrera on as an angel. By making Carmen the very first trans supermodel, you will help to end femmephobia within the LGBTIQQA community, but also it will show the entire trans community that you embrace them as your patrons."

The petition, started by Marco Regalado of Merced, California just a few days ago on change.org, already has 19,688 signatures from individuals of all different sexual orientations and gender identities. Some supporters have left messages expressing their reason for signing.

Josh Johnston of Mont Vernon, NH wrote, "Carmen Carrera has been an amazing icon and role model to the transgender community and it would be amazing if she could further herself and become an even larger role model to youth and adults."

Josh Wilson of Bracknell, United Kingdom wrote, "Carmen is the epitome of beauty and grace. She deserves this and would be an incredible asset to the company and for the LGBT community."

Megan Gillis of Sydney, CA voiced the strong opinion that motivated her to sign, "she's 10x more beautiful than most vicotia's secret models."

As a caption to the petition, Regalado added "If you watched Carmen at the Marco Marco runway show at LA Fashion week this year, then you know she has what it takes to be a Victoria's Secret Angel."

To make sure the purpose of the petition wouldn't be misinterpreted, Carrera posted yesterday on her Facebook page
"I just want to take a moment to say WOW! In less than a day the signature count has gone from a few hundred to almost 10,000! I'm amazed! And just to make it clear, this petition is not to force VS to do anything. It's to prove that the world is ready for change and possibilities are endless!"

If fans get what they want, Carmen Carrera will walk in this year's Victoria's Secret Fashion Show.
