President Barack Obama is hosting a special White House screening of Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Nelson Mandela's daughters, Zindzi and Zenzani, along with the film's stars, Idris Elba and Naomi Harris, are scheduled to attend the event on Thursday.

"Knowing what a strong relationship President Obama has with Nelson Mandela, it's an honor for this film to be shown at the White House," Harvey Weinstein said.

In June, Obama visited the Robben Island jail where Mandela spent almost two decades of his life. The movie also premiered in Johannesburg on Sunday, which Mandela's former wife, Winnie Mandela, attended.

Long Walk to Freedom focuses on Mandela's early life all the way to his getting released from prison and becoming president.

The night of the White House screening coincides with First Lady Michelle Obama's event with film industry experts aimed at high school students, Deadline reports.

The film will join Lincoln and 42 as recent films to be screened at the White House. Mandela is also currently surrounded by Oscar buzz.

Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom is out in limited release on Nov. 29 in Los Angeles and New York City.
