Upcoming film The Wolf of Wall Street has made some cuts to some scenes containing sex and nudity so the film could avoid the death knell of an NC-17 rating.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film featured too much explicit sexual content and the Classification and Ratings Administration Board noted the film would need to be cut.

Director Martin Scorsese and Paramount held several conversations with the ratings board over what exactly would need to be cut in order to avoid the restrictive rating, though what was removed is unknown.

A source involved in the film also noted that Wolf will run just under three hours long, by just a minute. The movie follows Leonardo DiCaprio as Wall Street broker Jordan Belfort who lives lavishly until he falls under the government's microscope for possible corruption and crime charges.

As previously reported, Wolf of Wall Street will be released on Christmas Day. The film was delayed from its original release date of Nov. 15, as Scorsese was struggling to finish his edits in time for the film to be released.
