11 are dead in the attempted siege of a Chinese police station in Xinjiang; the department was assaulted on Saturday, November 16th. The reason for the violent outbreak has been attributed to disgruntled persons, who are fighting for an independent state.
Reuters reports that nine marauding mobs of enraged civilians attacked the police station of Bachu county, armed with axes and knives. The encounter turned deadly when the mob killed two auxiliary officers, and wounded two policemen.
Order was restored when deadly force was employed; the mobs were gunned down at the police department.Police have identified the attackers to have an apparent Uighur name.
As stated on BCC there has been prolonged conflict in China. In September five people were killed when a car mowed through a crowd in Beijing's Tiananmen square. The authorities on scene laid blame on the separatist East Turkestan Islamic Movement (ETIM).
