A poll by the Pew research center in Washington shows that most Americans don’t believe in Evolution.
In conducting the poll, the Pew Research Center considered criteria including religious and education backgrounds and racial and ethnic groups. Evangelical Protestants represent the largest group to reject the idea of evolution.
Cary Funk, a Pew senior researcher who conducted the study said, "The gap is coming from the Republicans, where fewer are now saying that humans have evolved over time," according to Reuters.
They found that the United States is slow to accept evolution, the theoretical process that explains how all organisms have evolved from earlier forms of life.
The Pew Research Center is an American think tank organization based in Washington, D.C. that provides information on issues, attitudes, and trends shaping the United States and the world. The poll was conducted via telephone between March 31st and April 8th, 2013. The margin of sampling error is 3.0 percentage points, according toNBCNews.
