Famous actor Abigail Breslin is adding musician to her already impressive resume. The young starlet released her first single, "Christmas in New York."

"Christmas in New York," is a strong debut from Breslin, who has the timing of the holiday season on her side and an impressive vocal range.

Breslin said that she was inspired by a variety of Christmas songs and indie bands The 1975 and Dresses.

Breslin sings about wishing to be home with her family around the holidays and the lyrics are sincere and catchy. This is not the making of an instant holiday classic and doesn't stand up to Kelly Clarkson's recently released Wrapped in Red but for an actress turned singer, this is a strong single.

Breslin is credited with writing the song and for playing guitar on the track. It is clear that Breslin is talented as a musician but fans will have to see what she sounds like in a more pop driven single to fully judge.

It is unclear if Breslin could have a long career in the music industry or if the young star should focus on acting. Breslin does have a pleasant voice but does not have the vocal range that some have in the industry.
