Forbes has released its most overpaid actor list of 2013 and none other than Adam Sandler sits at the very top, not surprising given the recent flicks he has released.
According to Forbes, That's My Boy and Jack & Jill were the two flicks that placed him over other stars. The list uses a date that cut off before his summer movie Grown Ups 2 and only at an actor's last three movies.
The site notes that studios often take home only about half what the movie makes at the box office, and still has some bills to pay. So while $150 million sounds good on paper for Jack & Jill, the studio took back about $70 million before advertising and the fact that the movie cost $80 million.
The numbers are worse for That's My Boy, which brought in $57 million against a budget of $70 million. For every dollar that Sandler made, the studios took in about $3.40.
According to Us Weekly Katherine Heigl places a close second, returning $3.50, as she suffered flops of One for the Money and Killers. Reese Witherspoon, who is trying to revive her career, placed third.
Everyone's favorite crazy man, Nicholas Cage placed fourth on the list, managing a better $6 in return for studios. In fifth place is Kevin James who had a string of bad films, like Here Comes The Boom.
The rest, in order, on the list include Denzel Washington, Steve Carell, Jennifer Aniston, Matt Damon and Ryan Reynolds.
