Bruce Springsteen’s new album, High Hopes, was made available on Amazon’s mobile website weeks ahead of its scheduled release but it was quickly rescinded.
It was too late, however, as after mobile users were able to purchase the album in its mp3 format, file-sharing websites now have access to it. Users weren’t able to purchase the album in its entirety but they were able to buy the tracks one by one.
According to Billboard, Amazon hasn’t revealed whether or not this was a mistake on their behalf or intentionally done. Neither Springsteen or Amazon has publicly commented on the leak.
High Hopes marks the 18th studio album for Springsteen. It’s a follow-up to last year’s Wrecking Ball. The album was scheduled for a Jan. 14 release date and features members of the E Street Band, along with guitarist Tom Morello.
