Apple's latest software is the iBeacon, which can track where a user is located in an Apple store and send coupons and information on those specific products to your phone, and eventually the hope is for iBeacon to be used everywhere.

The Associated Press reports that iBeacon could raise privacy concerns, though many seem content with similar technology if they can get something out of the deal.

Tech analyst Rob Enderle commented, "With any new technology, you don't know how it's going to be used until it is being used." He noted that Apple "is pretty good" with getting people to adopt new tech.

IBeacon also lets users know information such as if their computer is ready for pick up, you can also reserve items, get help and pay for some items through the app.

The device uses bluetooth to help more accurately triangulate someone's position inside the store, since GPS is poor indoors.

The new feature was added as part of Apple's latest update, iOS 7, ABC News reports. "We're really excited about what iOS developers will be able to do with iBeacon, a technology we introduced with iOS 7 that uses Bluetooth Low Energy and geofencing to provide apps a whole new level of micro-location awareness," a statement from Apple said.

The AP notes that Major League Baseball already has plans to integrate iBeacon, in an app called At The Ballpark, at stadiums to help customize fan experiences.
