Britney Spears was profiled in a new E! documentary called I Am Britney Jean, released to coincide with her new album, Britney Jean. The album already disappointed on the charts and the show fared just as well.
The special aired on Sunday, Dec. 22 on E! and only drew 706,000 viewers, reports USA Today. Granted, it had competition like football on NBC and ABC’s broadcast of the original Sound of Music film on the major networks.
Spears made some interesting admissions in I Am Britney Jean, declaring her love of sex. “I love sex. I think sex is great, but I feel a little different about it now that I am older,” Spears, 31, said in the movie. “Sometimes I feel like I am 20 and sometimes I feel like I am 50.”
The album the documentary was meant to promote came out earlier this month and flopped compared to the pop star’s previous work. It only sold 107,000 copies, coming in at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 album chart.
Britney Jean is already out of the Top 20, ranking at No. 27 in its third week of release.
Spears is launching her Las Vegas residency, which gives her another chance to give the album a boost.
